Football Trophies - Awarding Success

As the football season begins to draw to a close, it is time to start thinking about rewarding your players for their efforts during the course of the year.  What better way than to give them their own memento of the past season in the form of a shiny trophy?  We have a great range of trophies here at Direct Soccer for you to choose from to help you honour your whole team.

For the top goalscorer in the team, the Shadow Blast is a fitting football award to hand over to your sharpest shooter.  Or you could give your team's hot-shot the Golden Boot treatment and award them with the Bronze and Gold Football Boot Trophy.  Both of these trophies come in various sizes, with 15cm being the smallest size they will stand out as they take pride of place on your winner's bedroom shelf.

But goals don't happen on their own, they need supplied from the creative players in your squad.  Why not celebrate their work with a trophy for the person with the most assists during the season?  The Puma Atomic EVOSpeed Trophy is the perfect choice for this.  This modern looking football trophy features a Puma football boot on the top and is a great choice to present your players with.

Football is of course played at both ends of the pitch though, so reward your defenders and goalkeepers too for all the clean sheets they've kept during the season that have helped your team gain the points you've needed to have a successful season.  The Script Football Tower Award is ideal with the main body of the trophy including buzzwords for football teams like strength, energy, respect and goals.

There is always a player each season who has improved greatly from the previous campaign, so celebrate their hard work and improvement with a trophy like the Blackhawk.  Get the team to join in and let them vote on their favourite player of the season too.  The Player's Player Award is usually one of the most coveted to receive in team sports as it has been voted for by your team-mates or fellow professionals so to be recognised by your peers is a great achievement.  The White Boot and Ball Trophy is ideal for this honour.

Even if you haven't had a successful season in terms of winning leagues or cups, thank your team's efforts by making sure they receive a trophy and award for their season's work.  Great trophies to consider are ones like the Star Striker Trophy or Player Trophy to smaller sized trophies like the Nemesis Football Award or the Explosion.  If you are running your team on a budget, or have younger teams, give them each a fun looking trophy like the Mini Football Trophy or the Kids Footballer Trophy.  These are equally ideal if you have a lot of kids in your club to purchase trophies for.

That's our guide to trophies for managers and coaches, but as a player how do you treat Award’s Night?  Here are a few examples from football personalities about what to do, or not to do, at the end of season bash.

Sir Alex Ferguson later claimed that he knew United would win the cup when he saw the likes of Fowler and Redknapp in their cream suits.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_819" align="alignleft" width="200"]Lionel Messi Lionel Messi - The Barcelona wizard has picked up the world's best player award 5 times. Great at football, not so great at choosing suits![/caption] [caption id="attachment_810" align="alignleft" width="150"]Cristiano Ronaldo Cristiano Ronaldo - When the Real Madrid player was crowned the world's best player in 2014, he let out a celebratory warcry on the stage. It was translated as simply meaning yes. Ronaldo even does this in training! Just like some of his moves on the pitch, he caught a lot of people by surprise with this reaction![/caption]

DRESS SMARTLY

Suited and booted, or shirt with a neat pair of jeans is the way to go when getting dressed for your team’s big night.  Don’t go the way of Lionel Messi and wear an outrageous suit and bow-tie combination like he does at the Ballon D'or, you'll only look like you should be going to a fancy dress party dressed as Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber.  Even worse, don’t get together with your team-mates and be a Spice Boys/Liverpool FC tribute act for the night!

GIVE A GREAT SPEECH

If you do win one of the club’s big prizes and have to give a speech, make sure it is epic like Louis van Gaal’s memorable speech at the Manchester United End of Season Awards presentation in 2015.  You’ll have your team-mates rolling about laughing and you’ll be the talk of the evening.

DON’T GET TOO EMOTIONAL

Even if you are head and shoulders above your team-mates, don’t shout out a scary celebration like Cristiano Ronaldo did when he won the Ballon D’or in 2014.  More importantly, don’t start blubbering like a baby whether you won or lost, your team-mates will make sure you never forget that moment.

HAVE PRIDE IN YOUR SEASON

Whether you win a trophy or miss out on all the silverware dished out to your team, don’t despair.  As your team-mates are accepting their awards, remember that you’ve played a big part in their achievements too.  The striker might not have scored all those goals if you hadn't made those important tackles beforehand.

This week at Direct Soccer we have a great offer on all of these trophies with at least 60% off the RRP.  We will even print a personalised label on all the trophies for you FREE OF CHARGE, with some of them even coming with a free football centre label.  Go for an engraved plate for just an extra £1.00 per trophy and your trophies will look even better as you hand them to your players at your club’s awards presentation.
